My choice
After thinking about it a lot, I decided to not apply for the department manager position. I’m pretty happy with my current job. If I did apply and get that job, I’d actually be making less money, I would have to be at work for 7am, and I’d have to deal with customers and bullshit from assistant managers and the store manager.
Hopefully someone that isn’t an idiot will get this job. It will affect me directly because that’s the department I work in on nights. I’ve heard rumours that a friend who used to work on nights was offered the job, but I don’t know for sure. There are always crazy rumours going around at the store. I don’t usually pay attention to any of them. I haven’t been talking to him since I heard about it. But I think he would be a good manager for that department.
