Bleh

It’s been an exhausting couple of weeks at work. My schedule has changed slightly from week to week, ending up in me having to work 6 days in a row. I’m not used to doing that anymore. But if we start a rotating schedule like other parts of the store, it might be something like 7 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off. Which wouldn’t be so bad, I guess. It would mean I had every second weekend off. But we’ll see what happens. Nothing was definite, other than rumours of change after inventory.

Which is thankfully tomorrow. Tonight is going to be the last inventory-related annoyance for a while. It’s been nothing but a pain in the ass (due to things we’re supposed to do/not do, and dealing with the day crew that do the opposite). Back to normal on Friday (well, Wednesday, but I’m off for two nights after tonight).

I ordered a 7.2″ LCD on eBay, designed for cars but it also has an AC adapter - good for gaming and watching movies. I’ll probably end up actually playing my Gamecube (and Dreamcast) more often now, since I won’t have to go downstairs to play. I’ve been thinking about getting a small TV for my room, but this LCD is costing just a little bit more, and I actually have the room for it - leaving me with more room for monitors in the future :) And my Sun ultra 5 workstation should get here sometime this week. Possibly today or tomorrow. That would be cool. New toys!

I haven’t had a haircut for a while. Probably won’t for a while in the future. I don’t know if I want to grow it long again, because that was often a pain in the ass. Not that it really matters either way. Whatever takes the least amount of effort :)

I’ve been keeping up on reading books lately, about 2 weeks or so per book. I just finished another one yesterday, and will be starting a new one soon. Probably Imperial Earth, by Arthur C. Clarke, because I haven’t read much by him lately (other than 3001).

The new Metallica album is “out”, but it sucks. I downloaded it anyway, just for the sake of pirating it. If I was a Metallica fan that would buy it before listening to it… well, let’s just say that I’m glad I’m not. I’ve bought too many crappy CDs in the past, I won’t usually buy something without downloading it first anymore. Same with movies (there are always exceptions, of course).
